Contests and Other Thoughts
Well it looks like our attempts to have several contests in the magazine have been a bust. The model building contest only had two entries which is not enough to have a fair judging so that contest is now cancelled. The "What is it" Contest has done no better, it has been running for two months now with only one entry for each month so it is cancelled also.
I would like to know why neither one of these contest were successfully. Why did you not attempt to enter either one of these contest? Your answer would be of a great help to us as we would like to do more things like this but we need to know what we did wrong in this case. Would you like to see any contest in the magazine? if so what type contest do you think we should have? Please send any comments or ideas to me at saulj@teuton.org.
We are coming up on another year in a few months and it is time to look at what we have done. The magazine seems to be doing very good looking at the statistics. I monitor the number of readers each month and we seem to have leveled out with between 3500 to 4000 readers each month. I have been contacted by readers from every continent in the world who even though they may not be able to read English, enjoy the pictures included with the reviews.
There are some changes in the works that I am thinking to bring about in the new year but I would like to hear from you readers. Are there any changes that you would like to see? How do feel about the magazine? When we started this magazine we did it to fill a need that existed in the card modeling world. Our readership is now about 4000 per month with people from all continents around the world. We want the magazine to continue to serve the card modeling community but we need your help. Without any feedback from you we don't know how well we are doing.
When we started we were totally dependent on the dealers and distributors for the models that were reviewed in the magazine. This was very limiting as the dealers and distributors were limited in what models they could provide us. Over the last year the magazine has approached financial independence. We now have enough money from selling models to allow us to expand the types of models that can reviewed in the magazine.
Things are looking very well. our readership is up and we have enough money to keep the magazine running for some time. We owe a debt of gratitude to a lot of people. The dealers and distributors who are still supplying models for review. Those of you who purchase models from our sell page. Those who contribute the articles and reviews to keep up the content of the magazine. The people who contribute their time and efforts to keep the magazine going. Finally you the reader, without you there would be no magazine.
