The Panzer III medium tank first saw service during the invasion of Poland and remained in production until 1943. Originally introduced with a 50mm gun the Ausf M version which is the subject of this model introduced the same 75mm gun as used on the Panzer IV.
This model is the 1:25 scale ModelCard kit that I believe is now out of print. While not on a par with the current level of armor offerings from GPM and Halinski, I do think ModelCard kits were still of good quality and the line covered a wide range of armor subjects from the WWI British Mark IV tank to the modern MLRS mobile rocket launcher.
This model represents my first attempt at an armor subject. At over 850 parts it was a reasonably challenging introduction. Overall fit was good except for the main turret hatch, which required some reworking to fit properly. I think the kit resulted in a handsome and detailed looking model that is still a favorite of my collection. I still have several Modelcard armor kits including the M-163 Vulcan and the MLRS that I am looking forward to completing some day.
