1/33 ModelArt F-15C
Michael Cittadino

Thirty years after its initial flight the F-15 "Eagle" is still the United States Air Force's primary air superiority fighter. Originally designed to replace the older F-4 Phantom the F-15, like its predecessor, has been widely regarded as one of the best fighters in the world. It is certainly one of the most successful with a perfect combat record of 100.5 victories and 0 losses. The current service versions of the aircraft are the single seat F-15C air superiority fighter and the tandem-seat F-15E "Strike" Eagle with the ability to carry up to 24,000 lb of ordnance.

Emil Zarkov has designed models of both of these versions published under his ModelArt line and available from Moshe Lemer. The F15-C that I built is an advanced level model with over1000 parts. The model allows you several building options including building the model in USAF markings with the cockpit canopy and electronic bays open or in USAF or IAF markings with the canopy and electronics bays closed.

The model exhibits the excellent fit and engineering that are a hallmark of Dr. Zarkov's designs. The excellent engineering makes some of the more daunting seeming assemblies, like the front electronics bays, surprisingly easy. The model, however, is still difficult and challenging to build. I would recommend this model to advanced level builders.
